Engineering In Wood is situated in the hamlet of Roxburgh in the Scottish Borders.

The company was set up in 1989 by Adrian Locke who is a third generation cabinet maker. He wanted to concentrate on the more specialised areas of woodworking. He now offers one of a kind pieces and furniture on a commission basis.

Adrian is a member of The Institute of Musical Technicians. We offer a full piano tuning and restoration service, tailored to your needs. Our client bank ranges from private individuals to schools, music societies & and music organisations.

We are the sole company contracted to Scottish Borders Council to carry out all their piano tuning & maintenance requirements at all primary & secondary schools throughout the area.

Furniture restoration has become a large part of the business, Adrian runs weekend courses in wood turning, antique restoration and French polishing.

We have a full range of wood turning blanks in stock at all times, approximately 350 blanks to choose from and various hardwood timbers in through and through boards. These can be purchased by mail order or directly from our gallery.
